Pier2Peer Event on Brighton Palace Pier – a Grand Finale! Loneliness Awareness Week 2023.

We made a big splash across the world when The Glamour Club concept was commissioned by TogetherCo, Brightons fabulous loneliness charity!

Janice Moth, owner and creator of The Glamour Club co-hosted with celebrity vet, Dr Marc Abraham OBE, an ambassador for TogetherCo. Special guests included Mayor of Brighton and Hove, Jackie O’Quinn.

Anne Ackroyd, CEO of the Pier group, led the welcome of 160 guests at entrance of Palm Court Pavilion, dressed up in Victoriana – complete with crinoline underskirt!

Palm Court Pavilion was breathtakingly and beautifully decorated, the volunteers and staff provided exemplary customer service. A deluxe traditional afternoon tea was served whilst Karen Etherington delighted us with 3 sets of specially curated songs for this momentous occasion. Karen warmed us up nicely, whilst guests enjoyed chatting, savouring their afternoon tea Karen then got us all out of our seats for a boogie on the dance floor.

Keeping up with traditions – it was Sussex Day too and Bob Smytherman, Worthings Town Crier, invited Janice to join The Mayor of Worthing and the Chairman of Adur District Council as he bellowed the Sussex Day Proclamation triggering much attention and hilarity. Promenading back down Brighton Palace Pier – Bob cried the Proclamation once again – 3 cheers for Bob!

Other piers across the UK, including the Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, also held events support TogetherCos Pier2Peer campaign.
